Help Our Family as We Navigate Our Twins’ NICU Journey

Hello, everyone.

Our names are Katelynn and Richard, and we never imagined we would be sharing our story under circumstances like this.

We were filled with joy and anticipation as we prepared to welcome our twins around September 11, 2026. We dreamed about that day and all the moments that would follow, but our lives changed in an instant.

After an unexpected accident at home our puppy was so excited from coming in from outside and she jumped onto my stomach and I began bleeding about an hour or two later. Everything happened so quickly and became terrifyingly serious. I was in and out of consciousness from losing so much blood, and we came frighteningly close to losing both me and the babies. Richard acted immediately to get me help, and we rushed to the hospital as fast as we could. The doctors moved with incredible urgency, and I was taken in for an emergency C-section. On June 24, 2026, our daughter, Kimber, was born at 12:59, and our son, Brodie, followed at 1:00. During delivery, I lost nearly 3 liters of blood.

It was the most frightening moment of our lives.

Our precious twins arrived at just 28 weeks gestation, far earlier than we ever expected.

Our beautiful daughter, Kimber, weighed 2 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 14.5 inches long.

Our handsome son, Brodie, weighed 2 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 13.5 inches long.

Though they are so tiny, they are already showing us what true strength looks like. Kimber and Brodie are fighting every single day with a courage that amazes us. They are currently in the NICU, where they will remain until they are strong enough to come home, and every small step forward feels like a miracle. We hold onto hope in every heartbeat, every update, and every little victory.

We are endlessly grateful for the doctors and nurses caring for our babies with such skill, compassion, and dedication. Their support has meant more to us than words can fully express. At the same time, this journey has placed an enormous financial burden on our family. Both Richard and I have had to step away from work so we can be by our twins’ sides and focus on recovery, but the bills continue to come. Between lost income, travel to and from the hospital, daily living expenses, and preparing for the day we can finally bring Kimber and Brodie home, we are doing our best to stay afloat.

We have a GoFundMe set up, and we are also accepting donations. Also, any other baby items, food, etc. for donations would be so awesome.

We are asking, with full hearts and deep humility, for any support you may be able to give. No gift is too small, and every act of kindness helps carry us through this incredibly difficult time. If you are unable to donate, sharing our fundraiser with others would still mean so much to our family.

Most of all, we ask for your prayers, positive thoughts, and encouragement for Kimber and Brodie as they continue to grow stronger each day. Your love and support remind us that we are not walking this road alone, and we are so deeply thankful for every person who has lifted our family up.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading our story, for caring about our babies, and for standing with us during one of the hardest chapters of our lives. Your kindness means more than we can ever truly say.

With love and gratitude,

Katelynn, Richard, Kimber & Brodie
