It's been a rough few weeks for our dear friends Treacy and Luna. On Sunday, November 30, 2025, Luna suffered a severe bout of colic and intestinal impaction that needed hospitalization for several days. Thankfully the impaction resolved thanks to wonderful folks at the Piedmont Equine Clinic, but unfortunately, shortly after Luna was discharged she developed a severe case of Colitis. This required another, lengthier stay at the Marion DuPont Equine Medical Center at Morven Park. Luna, ever the fighter and Boss Mare, overcame this second life-threatening condition as well. As of Monday, December 8th, Luna has returned home where we pray, home, and beg the universe that she'll be able to stay without further incident!
Both Luna and Treacy are some of the best friends that a girl (and her horse) could ever ask for. They are each one of a kind and have touched my life, and countless others' lives, in more ways than I can describe. I could go on and on, but anyone who reads this page doesn't need to hear about how special they are to me because Luna and Treacy are special to each and every one of us. To thank Luna and Treacy for their important role in all of our lives, I hope that you will contribute to help pay for Luna's (very expensive) treatment.
Any additional funds raised will be donated to the Middleburg Humane Society.
