Hey everyone. My name is Reyvin. Up until the end of April I was working, living a normal life, paying off the last of my debts, and helping to support my partner until he could start the fall semester at college. Towards the end of April I started getting really sick, winding up in the Emergency Room, and questioning what was happening with my health and why my body wasn't recovering. Not long after that in May, going over my medical records from the beginning of the year with my primary care doctor, I was officially diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). I have gone from working 12-14 hour days supporting myself and those close to me to being so fatigued that even getting up to do the dishes, taking out the trash, or even other basic tasks are too much for my body to handle.

Due to these changes I have had to drop any contract work I had; I was forced to completely stop any freelance work I had in progress. It's hard to convey the depth of fatigue, aches, brain fog, and the many other symptoms I'm regularly experiencing now. It's taken a major toll on me physically, emotionally, and mentally. It's been tough trying to come to terms with this condition; Going from being an active member of my local community, hard worker to having to relearn my body, what it can handle, and what I can manage day to day. If you don't have a familiarity with what Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, it's an incredibly debilitating chronic illness that affects neurological, immune, and energy metabolism systems in your body. There isn't a cure for it and treatment currently focuses on symptom management to make life livable again.

I'm terrible at accepting help but being confronted with the reality of my body needing time to recover, make sure I can stay housed, and figure out what I can even pivot into to support myself once I'm more functional. Over the next three to six months, my focus is going to be on gaining stability: covering my rent, utilities, and hospital bills—while I try to get in routines I can manage and figure out supporting myself in the long term.

Here's a more in depth breakdown of my current plan.

As of now my plan is to spend 3 months recovering, resting, and hopefully getting myself into a place where I can functionally do chores and basic things day to day. The only way I will start getting better is by forcing myself to stay off my feet, get bed rest, and do very minimal activity. During this time I'm going to see if I can structure my life enough to do some art and tattooing since its one of the few things I can manage with my time and energy for while recovering. Once that 3 months has passed I'm allowing myself another 3 months (through October) to make sure I'm able to establish ways to provide for myself that allow me to continue keeping my ME/CFS in a manageable place. I'm hoping I can eventually be in the 5% or so of people that fully recover, or come very close to that point myself.

Below I've broken down my timeline/budget that I need to stay afloat immediately, an estimate for future months of recovery, and a breakdown of all costs. (Including paying back May's rent and utilities we owe, as well as the end of April due to quitting my job from getting sick.)

What I need to cover immediately;
- $2055 (to catch up with April/May)
- $150 hospital payment (Overdue for May)

- $200 Overdue Loan re-payment

This totals $2405 due by June 5th due immediately.

What I need to plan for in the coming months;
Due on 6/5/26 - $1816 (June Rent + Other Bills)

Due by 8/5/26 - $3632 (July/ August rent + Other Bills)
Due by 10/5/26 - $3632 (September/October rent + Other Bills)

I made a larger budget/spreadsheet to visualize this. Please note I have not included doctors visits, medications, food, or future utilities since I've been able to get these things covered, or confirm I have future help covering them. Our property owner we rent from has been incredibly understanding and has expressed a lot of worry about my health and situation. Unfortunately she can't float us forever.

The purpose of this is to hopefully get my immediate housing costs repaid so this doesn't affect my roommates negatively or my housing situation. My partner has put his studies on the back burner and has been searching hard for any work that would cover both of us or a majority of our costs since I've gotten sick. I really would like him to continue to be able pursuing the degree he wants so he's able to better provide for us as he's been trying to do. If we have any updates on my monthly totals due to my partner finding work, etc... any "extra" cash is solely being put towards a separate savings for my health appointments and recovery.

I'm only going to be able to achieve any level of recovery with a lot of rest, careful planning, and support. I hope none of you ever develop this chronic condition or have to deal with it. Its a terrible feeling having so much of your life just ripped away, from work to hobbies you enjoy and can no longer pursue.

Thank you for reading and if you can't donate to assist in my recovery, please feel free to share.

Big Update!!!

Hey y'all, I've got some good & bad news.

First the bad, as of now I owe A LOT of money. Donations have helped but they haven't been enough to cover exactly what I need per month. As of right now I owe a lot of backed rent, bills, multiple months of my ER bills, and a loan I took to stay afloat that I would like to avoid going through to collections. Working dealers den at AC definitely helped lessen these amounts more and I've added that to the total.

As of now, I need $3135 out of the remaining $5569 that's unpaid to be fully caught up to now.

Now for the good news,

After doing the budgeting and having a better idea of my partners paychecks, come August he should be able to support me as needed, as long as we can pay back what's owed since we're still very in the red and on thin ice. Because of this, I removed my extended goals for September & October lowering the total I need. I'll post an updated breakdown below. I've also taken steps to start tattooing again and have reopened my studio this month so hopefully by August I'll be able to provide for myself a little better. I'm also currently shopping around for a mobility device, specifically a walker to assist me on days where I have bad chronic illness flare-ups.

Here's my new breakdown below!

HUGE UPDATE!!!

My Budget has changed! With my partner getting his new job I'll only need to be covering myself after July is over. However, he doesn't get his first paycheck until July. That being said, I need to cover rent & bills for July plus what's overdue. I've updated my goal for this recovery fund. Here's a new breakdown based off of what has been paid so far!

I only need $7702 in order to cover my remaining goal. I've included my budget of this below and will be updating the main page of my spotfund story to reflect that.

What's due immediately;

- $734 (July Rent)

  • - $200 (July Loan repayment)

  • - $150 (Hospital bill)

This totals another $1084 I need by July 5th.

What's still owed;

  • - $1466 (Overdue May Rent)

  • - $700 (Unpaid bills for April-June)

This totals $2166 I need to cover immediately after rent.

In total, to be caught up through July including backed bills/rent I need $3250.

I also want to thank everyone who's donated so far, big or small!! Thanks to y'all I was able to just barely scrape by paying our rent, some bills, and some of what I owe. The support means a lot. ❤️

Hey everyone, I have some updates now that I'm not to exhausted to post them.

First off thanks you so much for all the kind words, reposts, and support!

The bad news:

As of current I've gotten $1040 in donations, unfortunately I needed to make $2405 by June 5th. I also now need to make another $1466 by July 5th on top of that so we're now behind.

Because I didn't hit my goal for June this leaves $1365 I need ASAP to cover things.

The good news:

• My partner got the job he was applying for! He's starting soon and should be getting paychecks that will help us be more stable come July! This means if we can last until then, I'll be heavily updating my recovery fund goals since I should have to make a lot less.

• Recovery has been slow but it's happening. Due to resting/taking recovery time I haven't been getting worse. I've been slowly able to be more functional day to day although basic tasks or chores still take me out.

• I'm hoping in the coming months I'll be back into tattooing as well. I have a lot of locals waiting for me to open back up for work who have expressed support in my current situation. As soon as I'm well enough I'll be getting back into a groove where I can reopen the studio

Thanks for all the kind words, shares, and a few donations! I'll be adding offline donations at the end of the week to see where we're at. Unfortunately I still need close to 2k to cover overdue things from May and June is coming up very soon.

If I can make it through the end of this month & June, I have another job working as a booth assistant for my favorite dealer at a larger con. I know it's going to wipe me out for days after but it's extra cash I desperately need and I'll have my partner + friends to help look after me. I'm not eating any costs on it so it'll take a lil dent out of what I have to make to cover things for July. (I'll be adding my earnings to my survival fund here.)

He's a good friend and has been super understanding about my current condition/what my body is capable of which makes things easier.

Hopefully that's the only work I'll have to do or pick-up. I'm trying my best to stay couched/lay down until I start having better days where I can be slightly active. Remaining hopeful even though this is really hard for me both physically and mentally.
