Animal Welfare Society
of Howard County
Giving Tuesday 2021 Campaign

Want to join us in making a difference in animal welfare? Of course you do! We're raising money to benefit Animal Welfare Society of Howard County, Maryland, and any donation will help make an impact.
This funding request is especially for a capital campaign to rebuild our rescue that has suffered years of neglect and abuse in the hands of others. Previous administrations have left this facility in tatters and unfit for housing animals or humans. This rebuild initiative is quite expensive but very necessary. The facilities are without heat and running water, and are essentially destroyed in some areas due to neglectful kenneling of animals, allowed to urinate and defecate on the floors and closets of this facility. Flooring, subflooring, sheetrock have all been wrecked from this circumstance. The electrical is super sketchy, the plumbing is non-functional, and there is no HVAC. To get a better idea, please visit here.

We are making a plea for those who care about animals in need having a decent shelter environment. If you would like to contribute, your gift will go directly to the improvement of the shelter environment for these animals. The animals we serve desperately need your support. You can make a difference!

We are Howard County Maryland's oldest private nonprofit animal shelter. We were established in 1944 to help reduce the homeless animal population by finding permanent loving homes for homeless animals. The facilities were built beginning in 1945. We are currently undergoing a major rehabilitation of our facilities which are crumbling from the neglect and abuse of earlier administrations. Please consider making a tax deductible donation this Giving Tuesday, November 30, 2021, to help brighten some lives. Thank you!
