Hi, my name is Dr. Oksana Buttita. I presently reside in Miami, but I was born and raised in Kherson, a small city in Ukraine. I still cannot wrap my head around all of the terror and tragedy that is happening right now to my family and friends. It is unimaginable and unforgivable.
However, today I'm making a plea for those with absolutely no voices, the animals. There is an animal shelter "Shans" in my town with close to 800 animals. They all have one thing in common: THEY ARE STARVING. There are only two full-time volunteers, and they have to ration the food and feed the animals a handful of food once a day or every other day. They risk their lives everyday going out searching where to buy the food for those animals. The number of animals is constantly growing. Although the people of Ukraine are compassionate, some have have no food left, so they abandon their pets. There is no help from the government, and the shelter is surviving only on charity. They are thankful for every single cent. They require and need a minimum of 10 large bags of food DAILY, and they cannot afford it without our help. EVERY CENT DONATED WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE SHELTER.
I cannot do this alone that is why I am imploring you to please HELP with whatever you can. I am hoping for miracles; a miracle of peace in Ukraine, that people will return and rebuild from the ashes and that the lives of these innocent sensitive beings can somehow be saved. The entire world is watching and united, won't you join us and help save these animals' lives?
