I used to be terrified of animals in general, but dogs, in particular, were an entirely different level of scary for me. However, everything changed when I got my dog Josie. Owning a dog made me want to learn more about them and overcome my fear. Dogs have a way of making you happy just by being around them, and they provide excellent companionship regardless of the situation. I've noticed that they can sense when you're feeling down and will do their best to lift your spirits. Dogs are also great fun when it comes to being active, but they're equally good at snuggling with you too.
For my mitzvah project, I have decided to raise funds for a charity called Pets in Need. This charity takes care of cats and dogs of all ages and sizes. Unlike many other shelters that often put animals at risk of being euthanized due to lack of space or financial resources, Pets in Need makes sure this doesn't happen. Their primary focus is to transfer cats or dogs from these facilities to their own shelter, where they can receive proper care and find a loving home.
