Axel, my beloved dog, recently endured a terrifying accident that has left us all shaken. While home in his crate , his mouth got caught in a metal piece of his cage, which holds the tray in place. He some how managed to get the one side off and stuck inside the mouth.He needed to be cut out of the cage, then rushed to the nearest vet for emergency care. After sedation, they managed to remove the metal piece, but now leaving a significant hole under his tongue that extends to the outside of his face. The vets are baffled by how this could even happen. As a mother of five, who all adore Axel and consider him their sidekick, the mounting vet bills are a heavy burden.
