Help A Veteran Mom Keep Her Family Together

I'm navigating a difficult situation here in Killeen, Texas, as a disabled veteran and single mother of two wonderful daughters. Our home has always been our sanctuary, shared with our three beloved rescue dogs. Lately, it feels like everything is falling apart. The air conditioner leaked, wreaking havoc on our carpets, and eventually stopped working altogether. Now, we're left facing the brutal Texas heat without relief. It breaks my heart that our bathrooms have become unusable, too, with roots invading our plumbing and causing sewage to back up. The costs to fix these issues are overwhelming, especially on my fixed income, and neither my homeowners insurance nor home warranty will cover it. Unfortunately we've had no choice but to stay in a hotel due to these conditions. Surrendering our dogs isn't an option for me, as it's more than just losing them—they are part of our family. The thought of potentially losing our home or having to say goodbye to our pets is devastating.
