Hello, my name is Allison Hull. I am currently watching my friend, Mahasen Essam Atallah, plead for her life and dignity while the world watches. I am writing to you today to ask you to stop and acknowledge the plight of my dear Mahasen. While I am separated from her by an ocean, we are one under the leadership of the Supreme Creator. I can no longer sit idly by while she starves and freezes. This is the moral test of our time.
And you, yes, have the divine power to relieve the suffering of others. Your direct action can feed Mahasen and her children and keep them warm in the face of incomprehensible horrors. Most of all, you can give them faith, hope and love. And remember that the greatest of these things is love.

My name is Mahasen Essam, residing in Palestine, specifically from Gaza. Today, I bring you a story that reflects resilience, survival, and the indomitable human spirit amidst adversity. My family of 6 and I found ourselves immersed in the chaos of the war that broke out on October 7. Scenes of bombing, destruction, and forced displacement became our harsh reality, which led us to make the painful decision to leave our home in search of safety.
Gaza, once a place we called home, has been transformed into an inhospitable environment, stripped of the basic necessities of life. The basic elements of life - shelter, food, security, treatment for my two children and treatment for my elderly mother, who suffers from heart disease and high blood pressure - have been cruelly taken away from us. In the wake of this upheaval, I witnessed the loss of almost everything that represented our existence.
Gaza no longer felt safe, which left me with a deep determination to build a new life for my family, away from the constant specter of war. Today, I reach out to you not only as a survivor but as someone steadfastly committed to forging a path toward a brighter future. My ambition is to move my family and I to a place where we can rebuild and break free from the shadows of conflict that haunt our beloved Gaza.
