I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart, asking for support for my incredible mom, Michelle(Debra).
Recently, our family received news that no one is ever prepared to hear…My momma was diagnosed with tongue cancer after beating breast cancer in 2020 and have a double radical mastectomy and undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. She is a fighter.
Anyone who knows my mom knows what a selfless, amazing, ambitious, strong and loving person she is. She has dedicated her life to taking care of everyone around her, and now it’s our turn to take care of her.
To give her the best chance at beating this, my mom needs to undergo a major surgery on July 23rd 2026 to remove the tumor on her tongue and reconstruct that portion of her tongue, as well as dissect lymph nodes from the right side of her neck.
Because of the nature of tongue surgery, her recovery will be intense. She will face:
An extended hospital stay and surgical recovery.
Speech, swallowing, and physical therapy to help her recover critical functions.
A period where she will rely on specialized liquid nutrition/soft diets. She will be on a feeding tube for the foreseeable future.
Time away from her small business, and unable to create.
We are unsure about chemotherapy or radiation at this specific time until they do her surgery.
Why We Need Your Help:
While our main focus is helping her heal, the financial strain of medical bills, specialist care, daily living expenses, and lost wages is going to mount quickly.
We want my mom to focus 100% of her energy on recovering and getting strong again, without the overwhelming weight of financial stress. She is on disability and that income is not sufficient and she is battling with her food assistance right now. Unfortunately my income is not enough to take care of her and my little sister ontop of my family as well.

Out-of-pocket surgical and medical expenses.
Rehabilitation therapy (speech and physical therapy).
Specialized nutritional supplies and medication.
Basic living costs and travel expenses while she isnt able to create and healing.
Gas for the back and forth to her appointments for therapies and follow ups.
