My daughter Katelin has been battling Triple Negative Breast cancer since July of 2022. She was 27 at the time. She did 16 rounds of chemo and in December of 2022, she had a double mastectomy and cancer free. In December of 2023, she was diagnosed that the cancer had come back. She underwent another five months of chemo and in June of 2024 underwent another surgery. She went on oral chemo at that point. In November of 2024 she was told that the cancer had spread to her lungs and started chemo again and has been on it since then. She knew that eventually it would spread but was positive she would kick it. On November 24 she turned 31 and things looked good. On Tuesday January 20, she went to the ER at Marshfield Medical Weston with a headache she couldnât control. The did a head CT and found that her cancer had spread to her brain. Â They transferred her overnight to main Marshfield to meet with the Neurosurgeon team and get an MRI to see how bad the cancer was. While waiting for the team and MRI Kate had a seizure and became unconscious. Her team did an emergency craniotomy to relieve the pressure on her brain. Â Kate went into a coma and we were told on Sunday that she is in a vegetative coma and that the swelling causedto much trauma to her brain and brain stem and that she will not survive. Â Throughout her full breast cancer journey Kate has been a dedicated nurse and traveling nurse and worked right up to the headache. We are raising funds to help cover her medical expenses and funeral expenses. Thank you all for praying for her and her family. We have appreciated all of it.Â
