My name is Pastor Rochester Denson, and I humbly serve as the Pastor of The Greater Hill of Zion Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. Our church has proudly stood as a pillar of faith and service in this community for 67 years.
After Hurricane Katrina devastated our original location at 3020 Florida Avenue (1958–2005), we returned in 2006 with renewed determination to rebuild and restore. By God’s grace, we established our current church home at 1520 Alvar Street in 2007, and have continued to serve this community with compassion, resilience, and unwavering faith ever since.
Now, an important opportunity has presented itself: the building next door to our church is available for purchase. We are seeking to raise $200,000 to acquire this property and prevent it from being used in ways that could negatively impact our neighborhood.
Your generous support will allow us to:
-
Purchase and renovate the adjacent building
-
Launch after-school and feeding programs
-
Expand our community outreach initiatives
-
Build a much-needed church website to better connect and serve
-
Ensure that this space remains a source of hope and healing
We’ve always been more than a church—we’re a safe haven, a support system, and a beacon of light. With your help, we can continue making a lasting difference in the lives of those around us.
Thank you in advance for your support. God bless you.
