Donations are a great way to help with managing day to day needs for basics like food, water, clothing, shelter then schooling and medicine.
However the real aim is to help empower these good people and give them enough funds to rent land, buy tools and seeds in order to grow their own food. To generate a potential income too whilst enabling them to create lives more fulfilled and happy.
