Help Me Restore My Late Father’s Home After Squatters Destroyed It

My name is Chrissy Monroe, and I’m asking for your help during one of the hardest chapters of my life.

Before my father passed away, I was his full-time caretaker and did everything I could to make sure he was safe, comfortable, and surrounded by love. He was a kind, generous man who always opened his doors to people in need—and unfortunately, some people took that kindness for weakness.

After his health declined, squatters took advantage of his open heart and ended up staying in his home without permission. What started as my dad trying to help others turned into a nightmare. These squatters destroyed the house, ran up bills, and left the property in awful condition. By the time I was able to take control of the situation, they had not only damaged my father’s home but also left it in arrears.

Since his passing, I’ve been fighting nonstop to make things right in his honor. I’ve worked to catch up on what was owed, and I am now current—but the home itself is still in terrible shape. The walls, floors, plumbing, and electrical systems all need serious repair. Personal items tied to my father’s memory were ruined or stolen. What should be a place of comfort and legacy now looks like it was abandoned and abused.

I’ve been doing everything I can on my own, but I’ve reached the point where I have to ask for help. Every contribution will go toward:

• Essential repairs to make the house safe and livable again

• Deep cleaning and remediation from the damage left by the squatters

• Replacing basic furniture and household items so the home can once again reflect the love my father poured into it

This isn’t just about fixing a building—it’s about restoring my father’s legacy and not letting the people who exploited his kindness have the last word.

If you’re able to donate, I am deeply grateful. If you can’t give financially, sharing this campaign means more than you know. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping me turn something so painful into a chance to rebuild in my dad’s memory.

With love and gratitude,

Chrissy Monroe
