My Name is Samiyah DeGross, on February 22, 2023, I was accepted into my dream school SCAD ( Savannah College of Art and Design) where I will be studying Fashion Design & Fine Arts. I was also one of many who was chosen to study abroad in Italy for 2 months during my second quarter of school.
I was awarded many scholarships and grants but unfortunately, my Scholarships and Grants covered all costs except for $20,000, This is my dream to become the BIGGEST! Black Female Fashion Designer out of my City of Baltimore.
I also have applied for more scholarships and grants and haven’t heard back from anyone. I’ve tried to apply for loans but I was denied due to my not having established credit which led to me needing a co-signer. Those who were willing to apply were denied. As of July 15th, I was told I wouldn’t be able to start school if this portion isn’t paid. This has led my anxiety through the roof but I have faith I will walk through those college doors in September.
I finally get accepted into the one school I’d been dreaming of attending to the last of my tuition was uncovered. I’m asking if you all can help me on my road as I pursue my creative career. No donation is too small anything helps I really would love to start school this fall.
