Over the last several years, I have begun to appreciate the prevalence and challenges of food insecurity in America. I've also taken an interest in ultramarathon running over the last several years (thank you to all of you who have supported me on this journey).
Over the next year, I'm bringing these passions together. I will be training to participate in the Grand to Grand Ultra (https://g2gultra.com/) - a 171-mile, six stage (7 day), self-supported race across the deserts of Utah and Arizona.
The Grand to Grand Ultra is the first self-supported stage footrace ever to take place in America. It is the only stage race to start from one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the awe-inspiring north rim of the Grand Canyon, and finish at the Pink Cliffs, which is the top layer of the Grand Staircase, one of the world's most iconic geological formations.
Throughout my training, I will be raising awareness about food insecurity and raising funds for the Kane County Care and Share - https://www.facebook.com/KaneCareandShare - a local food pantry near the Grand to Grand Ultra course.
If this cause motivates you, or the journey inspires you, please consider making a contribution or sending me a note. Every dollar donated will go to the Kane County Care and Share and be used to support those facing food insecurity.
Thank you!
-Neil
