Justine, my daughter, is a beacon of patience and love, serving as the emotional center for her kids, Elijah and Dakotah. Since the beginning of 2023, she’s been trying to navigate custody orders to ensure her boys have the stability they need. Unfortunately, their father’s unpredictable behavior and neglect have left deep imprints on them. When they're supposed to return to Justine after visits, they often come home upset and overwhelmed. Their father's frequent isolation and substance use mean that Elijah and Dakotah end up fending for themselves. Justine is now in a desperate situation, urgently needing legal assistance to protect her boys and bring them the safety they deserve.
To move forward, Justine must hire a lawyer, a step that's both critical and costly. The initial retainer fee is $3,000—funds she's saved, now depleted. Worrying about the financial toll, as well as how all of this is effecting the children involved is keeping her awake at night, and her inability to eat properly worries me immensely.
