Bringing Life-Saving Swim Lessons to the Children of the Bahamas
Amy’s Aquatics, a trusted and well-regarded swim instruction service based in Flower Mound, Texas, is expanding internationally with a heart-led initiative in the Abaco Islands of the Bahamas. This program, Amy’s Aquatics in the Abacos, provides free swim lessons and water safety education to children in underserved island communities.
This effort began through a meaningful collaboration with a local contact in the Abacos and has grown into an organized swim camp aimed at teaching vital aquatic skills. The mission is clear: to empower children with the confidence and ability to be safe in and around water.
💙 Why It Matters
In island communities like the Abacos, water is a way of life—but many children have little or no access to swim instruction. Teaching them how to swim isn’t just fun—it’s lifesaving.
Even though Amy volunteers her time and expertise without charge, this mission comes with significant expenses, including:
- Airfare, taxi, and ferry transportation to reach the islands
- Boarding and care for her home and pets while she’s away
- Swim equipment, educational materials, and administrative costs
🌟 How You Can Help
The local community center is requesting a $10 fee per child for participation. Unfortunately, this amount is too costly for some families. We’d love to sponsor as many children as possible, ensuring no one is turned away from this life-changing experience.
🔹 Just $10 can sponsor one child to join the program.
🔹 Larger donations help cover travel and operational costs.
🔹 Every gift—big or small—makes a real difference.
If you feel led to support this cause, please reach out to Amy directly or visit our website to learn how to contribute.
