Dear Friends,
For over a year and a half, Paul Eiding and I have been exploring and delving into Heisenberg: The Uncertainty Principle by Simon Stephens. In the past few months, we have been honored to have Cameron Watson and his A-team join our efforts in producing this surprising and life-affirming play. In August, we signed the contracts at the Skylight Theatre and will be moving into the space in November. Right NOW, we need your help and support to get there! Usually, a production of this size and caliber has the financial support of a well-funded theatre, whether that be through subscriber donations or federal grants. Heisenberg is being independently produced by Paul and myself. If ever you were considering investing in a project and showing your beautiful support of live theatre, HEISENBERG is your production!
Personally, this play is more than just another performance opportunity for me. This year, I am eight years sober. I never imagined that facing my addiction would land me on the precipice of diving headfirst into a character that is a true patchwork of my shadows, my illness, and fears. Georgie is the epitome of uncertainty, which is exactly where I was eight years ago soaked in shame and praying for mercy. This play is about what happens when that shame and grief are witnessed and experience love through laughter, connection, sensuality, music, and space. We are pouring our hearts and dedication into this project because it's truly a story of purpose, hope, and healing.
Your generous contributions will be used to support the artist's on our team, the cost of materials (e.g. the rights to the play, costumes, lighting, sound, marketing, stage management), and the rental of the theatre space at the Skylight Theatre, one of LA's most dynamic and unique artistic spaces. We are asking you to jump into the uncertainty with us and contribute whatever you can. We are offering supporters exclusive gifts for their contribution. Some of the gifts include personal messages from Colonel Roy Campbell (Paul’s character from Metal Gear Solid), free reserved tickets, shout outs on social media, a signed Heisenberg poster, and, for larger sponsors, AD SPACE in the programs and marketing materials. By the way, our poster was designed by the remarkable graphic artist, Bill Sienkiewicz (Batman, DC, Swamp Thing).
Anything you can contribute helps immensely!! Creating art requires intentional collaboration and your investment is a deliberate act to continue creating and imagining.
Contributions can be made to this *spotfund, check, or Zelle (909) 838-6841 (Zelle donations are transferred to Brave Space Productions LLC).
Heisenberg will open November 20 and run until December 21 at the Skylight Theatre.
