Hello! My name is Anthony Rodeghiero.
I’m a Life Scout with Scouting America Troop 256, and I was recently approved to begin my Eagle Scout Project!
For the past four years, I’ve been working toward earning the rank of Eagle Scout, and now I’m very close. My Eagle Scout Project will take place at Bannockburn Church in Austin, Texas. The project involves expanding three concrete tile platforms in the Outdoor Education Center by one tile on all sides, as well as adding metal edging to help keep the platforms in place during heavy rain. There are currently picnic benches on these platforms, and they simply need to be larger and more secure.
The Church’s Outdoor Education Center has no grass and is currently made up entirely of dirt. This area serves as the primary playground for the Church’s school program. When it rains, the dirt turns into mud and becomes a safety hazard for the children. They could slip and fall, cut themselves on small sharp rocks hidden beneath the dirt, or simply end up muddy and uncomfortable. Improving this space will help provide the children with a safer place to play year-round.
