Support Khadijah & Ski's Heart Healing Journey

As many of you know, 2026 has been a challenging one for our friends and colleague, Khadijah and Ski. In January they were displaced from their home for over a week during the Nashville ice storm. This resulted in multiple unexpected expenses so quickly after the holiday season. Ski also began experiencing shortness of breath and fatigue which he believed was caused by his job. In April, he decided to leave his position in an effort to improve his symptoms. Unfortunately, 2 days later he was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with advanced heart failure. He was able to get the care he needed during admission. However, following discharge his employer provided health insurance coverage terminated as he had left his job prior to hospitalization. The out of pocket cost for the care that Ski needs is astronomical. Given his current condition and symptoms, Ski is not able to work. Khadijah has continued to work at both of her jobs to earn an income as they struggle to navigate this new reality. They are incredibly humble people who would never ask for help, despite being incredibly deserving. That is why I am making this fundraiser; to offer Khadijah and Ski the help that they so generously offer to others.
