I have a moderate sensorineural hearing loss in both ears. I am unable to hear much of conversations without complete background silence or volume on my phone at a high level. I also have two types of tinnitus. I have regular tinnitus and pulsatile tinnitus. I have been evaluated by an audiologist at the U and one at TOSH also. My insurance only covers hearing aids for children and pregnant women. There is no surgical treatment to improve my hearing, unfortunately. My parents have graciously donated a pair of hearing aids that will work. I now need the fee so I can have the programmed and fitted for my needs. The clinics have quoted me $400-$650. I have chosen the clinic with the $400 fee. I do not like asking for help, but I have been ill for eight months and am not able to make this kind of money happen in the two weeks I need it to. So I am asking all of you. I will pay it forward when I am able. You have my word.
