I'm a survivor of marital abuse that wants to take those 15 years and bring something amazing from it. My goal is to raise the funds needed to establish my organization as a legal ministry/nonprofit 508c1a, so we can start making a massive impact in the lives of women and kids that have experienced domestic violence of any kind. $10,000 will help cover the legal advisor for documentation, abuse advocacy training and certifications, and hopefully several of the minor start-up fees to make us official. If we raise more, it will go into a fund to start helping survivors right away! Once we are official, we can pursue corporate sponsors and start large-scale fundraising from the public to make more resources available to our families in need. The goals include emergency and transitional housing; help with legal, relocation, medical, and other abuse-related expenses; trauma-informed mental health care; support groups; help moving in/out; scholarships to help train for new careers; any help we can provide to support their healing and journey to a new and better life free of abuse; and removing many of the roadblocks that often keep women in abusive situations or force them to return. Every dollar helps!
