Jamie has been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks now with no discharge date in the foreseeable future. We're not even sure where she will be discharged to, due to suspected neurological damage. At this time she is very weak, she is unable to walk, unable to form sentences, unable to eat (she has a feeding tube) and mostly keeps her eyes closed. We think she may sometimes be aware of what's going on, but mostly she is incoherent. She is suffering from liver failure and will most likely need a liver transplant once she is medically stable enough. Jamie has suffered a very difficult, tumultuous life throughout the last 6 years and it has definitely taken it's toll. Since she has been in the hospital, her home has been repossessed, along with most of her belongings, other than whatever things we are able to pack up for her tomorrow...clothes, shoes, and anything else we can determine would be important to her. So when she is able to live on her own again, she is going to have to start from scratch. She is going to be absolutely devastated when she is coherent enough to understand her situation, not only her situation medically, but also that she lost her home, which she has struggled so desperately to keep. We are asking for donations in order to have funds set aside for her to make a new start with. I believe that the will to live makes a huge difference in recovery. So we want her to wake up and have hope for the future and the possibility of a fresh start, not hopelessness and insecurity. A portion of the donations will go to Jamie's Mom and Stepdad (who are caring for Jamie's oldest daughter full time, and the two little girls and the two middle boys part time) to help provide food and other necessities for them. They are shouldering a lot of expense caring for these kiddos. I will post a detailed accounting of what funds are being held back for Jamie and what funds are being used to help provide for the kids, and pics of receipts. If anyone would like to donate food or household supplies, it would most definitely be much appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at or mailed to Exotic A.R.C. Reptile Shop, 343 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125. Every little bit helps so please, please donate if you can. Thank you so much for reading and God bless!
