We are Javier & Mary, partners in life for almost 26 years, blessed with four daughters and three beautiful granddaughters. Our love story, however, has been challenged by circumstances beyond our control. Javier was brought to the USA as a child and it was the only place he really knew as home, We faced a harsh reality when the families unidos program was abolished," forcing him to leave the only home he knew in the USA. Now, we are older, and while our dreams to live together there have ended, our vision of crafting a home in Mexico has just begun.Though we have a small parcel of land, enough to grow crops and build a home, the unexpected turn of events didn't afford us much time to save. Our goal is to construct a modest wood-framed, light straw clay home—simple, sustainable, and filled with love. We've always dreamed of building economically, reusing and recycling as much as possible, but even pallets or basic materials are costs we must bear alone.Your generous donation will directly fund essential materials like rebar, windows, doors, and the critical water connection. Your support means the world, helping us lay a foundation and a roof over our heads, ensuring we no longer have to share a cramped, windowless room. With ambition and tenacity, we’ll build our haven, and through your kindness, we can inspire others in our community to dream and build sustainably too. Please join us in this heartfelt journey by donating now, bringing us a step closer to a space we can truly call home.Thank you for your compassion and for being a part of our story.

Working hard this last week to demo a small home here. We are able to salvage some usable bricks and a few other things that we can use to build our home. We are definitely going to do as much as we are able to here on our own and work our peaches off to make a home for us.
