The thing no one tells you about serving in the military is just how much it will change your life. The friendship and bonds formed are lifelong, but so are impacts to your health. Between injuries sustained in deployment and challenges with military healthcare, achieving quality of life following my service has been a complex and unanticipated battle.
As a now disabled veteran, I've faced several challenges with military healthcare that have left me in need of costly medical expenses that the VA will not cover.
My primary concern is to repair damage sustained by dental work performed during my service. Added to this is the significant and progressive deterioration of my knee cartilage that resulted from deployment and military training.
Both situations cause persistent pain and have really diminished my daily quality of life.
With your help, I can tackle these healthcare issues that my military and VA care will not fix. Access to the necessary dental and orthopedic treatments will not only alleviate my daily pain but also allow me to fully participate in my life again, allowing me to be more present for my wife and two daughters.
Your help means more than words can express.
