Last night, Friday, March 5th, a fire tore through my parent’s garage. We are extremely lucky my brother woke up & saw the flames when he did. He was able to wake up the house, including my dad who jumped up & did everything he could w/ a neighbor to keep the fire from spreading to the house. First responders quickly showed up & helped assist my grandma & mother (both with physical limitations) to safety. All was lost in the garage, including at least one outdoor cat my parents take care of (a couple more are still missing).
As blessed as we are that nobody was seriously hurt, my dad sustained 3rd degree burns on his hands w/ minor burns to his arms & face while my brother had minor burns to his hands & arms. I set up this GoFundMe to help ease some of the burden that my dad is facing from the loss of the garage to medical bills. Due to electrical damage they have also been displaced for the time being.
If you know my dad, he has never & will never ask for a handout. He’s the first to help anybody in need & gives countless hours to the softball players he coaches. Now, he could use some help in this stressful time. Even if you cannot help financially, please share and/or pray for my family as we navigate the next steps.
