Louis has been living life on blurry mode, but we finally found a surgeon who can switch him to high definition.
He has unknowingly been waiting his whole life for this moment… and it’s finally here. 🐾🥹
The good news: an incredible vet is ready to fix his eyes.
The bad news: my bank account saw the estimate and immediately fainted.
I had been preparing for around $3,000 for Louis’s double entropion surgery and have managed to save $500 so far. But Shandon Wood Animal Clinic showed us some serious kindness and offered to do the surgery for half the cost. Cue the ugly crying. 😭
Even with that incredible offer, I’m still a little short and I really don’t want Louis to miss this chance to finally see the world clearly.
If you’ve followed the Louis & Clark saga, you know Lou-dog has had eye issues since birth and somehow still manages to be the happiest giant goofball alive. The surgeon said the best news we could hear: no corneal scarring, no ulcers, and over a 90% chance of success.
His surgery is scheduled for March 24, and with any luck he’ll be healed up around Easter… which feels pretty fitting for a little rebirth story. ❤️
I know times are tough for everyone, so I’m not expecting miracles. But if you can spare a few dollars or even just share this, it would mean the world to both of us.
Let’s help Lou-dog finally see the world he’s been missing.
Because if any dog deserves it… it’s this one. 🐾
