Louis has been living life on blurry mode, but we finally found a surgeon who can switch him to high definition.

He has unknowingly been waiting his whole life for this moment… and it’s finally here. 🐾🥹

The good news: an incredible vet is ready to fix his eyes.

The bad news: my bank account saw the estimate and immediately fainted.

I had been preparing for around $3,000 for Louis’s double entropion surgery and have managed to save $500 so far. But Shandon Wood Animal Clinic showed us some serious kindness and offered to do the surgery for half the cost. Cue the ugly crying. 😭

Even with that incredible offer, I’m still a little short and I really don’t want Louis to miss this chance to finally see the world clearly.

If you’ve followed the Louis & Clark saga, you know Lou-dog has had eye issues since birth and somehow still manages to be the happiest giant goofball alive. The surgeon said the best news we could hear: no corneal scarring, no ulcers, and over a 90% chance of success.

His surgery is scheduled for March 24, and with any luck he’ll be healed up around Easter… which feels pretty fitting for a little rebirth story. ❤️

I know times are tough for everyone, so I’m not expecting miracles. But if you can spare a few dollars or even just share this, it would mean the world to both of us.

Let’s help Lou-dog finally see the world he’s been missing.

Because if any dog deserves it… it’s this one. 🐾

Day 4 of fundraising… 7 sleep nights until surgery.

And because of y’all being the absolute legends that you are, Louis is only $205 away from seeing his world clearly. 🥹🐾

Which means two things:

-We’re so close I can taste it.

-Lou-Dog is about to upgrade from 'blurry potato vision' to HD Doggo 4K.

Shody — girl, you’ve been my A1 since day one. My ride-or-die in both the human world and the dog world. Thank you for loving us all the way from the West Coast like distance ain’t nothing but a minor inconvenience. I adore you 🥹

Susan — we’ve never even met, but through shares and mutual friends you felt it in your heart to help. That kind of kindness hits different. The world needs more humans like you, and we’re incredibly grateful you chose to be one for us.🙌🐾💚

April— your generosity and love never stops amazing me. I swear it’s always the people who’ve seen the most chaos in life that step up the fastest. I see you, I love you, and I appreciate you more than you know. That first cocktail will be on me and in honor of a friendship we've let sit too long but has always been there. 🍸

This world always feels a little kinder, a little sweeter, when the people you resonate with show up like this. I don’t ask for help often… but when I do, y’all roll in like the Avengers 🦸‍♂️🦝🙌

And now the goals end is right there on the horizon... like the sun coming up for Louis and the world he’s about to finally see.

I love every single one of y’all. Thank you. 🥹🐾💚

Day 3 of fundraising. 9 days until surgery morning. The countdown is on and my emotional stability is hanging on by coffee and dog kisses 🤦‍♀️

Huge thank you to Brenda for your generous donation to my boy. Your friendship and support mean the world to us. Lou-dog appreciates you deeply… mostly because you’re helping fix the eyeballs he uses to locate snacks.

We also had two anonymous donors give toward Louis’ surgery, and I hate that I don’t know who to thank personally. But if you happen to see this, please know this: you’re tucked in our hearts.

When we walk into that vet clinic on surgery morning, we’ll be carrying a whole army of kindness with us—and you’re a huge part of that. We only made it this far because of your generosity and your heart.

Louis may not know your names, but I promise he’ll be using those freshly fixed eyeballs to look extra cute in your honor. 🐾🥹

AMAZING NEWS 🥹😭🙌

An incredibly generous donor called me and made a substantial donation toward Lou-dog’s surgery. Because they donated off-platform, I’ve lowered the amount needed!

I’ll let them reveal themselves if they choose, but I just have to say… these are some of the most selfless humans I’ve ever known. They’ve shown up for me in more ways than I can count, and this is just another reminder that truly good people still exist in this world.

I’m endlessly grateful God placed them in my life. Whatever I did to deserve their love and kindness, I promise to keep trying to live up to the person they believe I am… and to pay that same kindness forward whenever I get the chance.

Lou-dog and I are beyond thankful. He might not see perfectly yet, but he definitely feels the love. 🥹🐾

.......................................................................................

Louis was found in December 2024 on my way to work… using his brother Clark as his personal seeing-eye dog on their little adventure. 🥹

And yes, before anyone asks—of course I pulled over and put them straight in my truck. There was absolutely zero chance I was just going to clock in at work and pretend I didn’t just meet the saddest buddy-cop duo on the side of the road.

My heart breaks when I think about where he might be today if that moment hadn’t happened. I’ve been told they’d been wandering for weeks, and somehow no one stopped to help them. Weeks.

Two sweet boys out there just trying to survive together.

But thankfully, fate (and probably Clark doing all the navigation) put them right in my path that morning. And now Louis is here, loved beyond measure, surrounded by people rooting for him, and getting the chance at the life he always deserved. 🐾🥹

I love yall.
