My name is Jenn, I am an Epilepsy Fighter. Epilepsy is a seizure order that doesn’t have a cure or most times reasons as to why you’re having seizures. I have had 2 very intense and aggressive seizures in my life time. I’ve probably had at least 25 plus seizures in the last few years. At this point in my journey I am choosing to advocate for myself and share the harsh reality of my struggle. I understand doctors in the state I live in, in Kansas are only really open to seizure meds that affect your liver and kidney function, make you depressed and in my experience only cause more seizures. I am fighting to get my medical and dental insurance to work together to cover my out of pocket costs to replace my pallet and jaw bones to do implants so I don’t have a temporary mouth piece with fake plastic teeth forever. The results of my last harsh seizure in 2022 resulted in me breaking 5 teeth from the root of of my mouth and chipping my jawbone effecting more than 10 teeth. I need an emergency root canal to prevent an infection that may go to my brain and kill me is the worst that can happen but at this point may actually happen. No one will accept my case until insurance is approved and I’ve waited 6 weeks, spent a lot of money on antibiotics that are making me more sick now, rides because I can’t drive due to my seizures and several days off of work throughout this. I can’t see in my right eye due to the pain and infection, my ears hurt, I have migraines and the pain is so bad I haven’t eaten much in 6 weeks resulting in a weight loss so far of 20 pounds, it’s effecting my parenting as a single mom, I’m about to lose my job if I can’t get this fixed. I can’t see a dr again until earliest September 4. I have two different dental insurance and medical insurance but no one will help me. I need a dr to do this root canal until I can get the money to prevent any more long lasting effects in my mouth. Any help on getting this infection and pain taken care of, dentists in Wichita that can help without insurance, insurance providers, and my implants. This process takes a long time but if I can’t get this root canal done first, there will be no reason to get implants because I really don’t think I’ll be here for it :( this effects my financial freedom as a single mom, my job, my being able to drive, my mental health and just my life as a human. Any resources are needed immediately. The $40000 is how much is will cost after dental insurance and medical is not wanting to help. I need someone to see this was all caused by a seizure, not me not taking care of my teeth, but a seizure and the cracks in my jaw were missed and that’s how the infection started. For 2 years they have never seen that my jaw was fully broken and I suffer everyday in pain and now have an infection that antibiotics aren’t working against.

My name is Jenn, Founder, I have epilepsy myself. I started this foundation in hopes to educate the world about seizure disorders. I am aiming to do more research to be able to prevent seizures without just medications. Also, educating what to do in times a loved one does have a seizure. We assist with medications if one cannot afford it, finding legal services, doctors, and all resources involved in making life easier as an epileptic.
We want everyone to feel understood and accepted, we understand there is a lot of trauma that comes with seizures and you are not alone in this fight! 💜
