Zack Catizone is currently facing a difficult and unexpected legal battle, and his family needs support.
One evening, while Zack was in his garage speaking with a neighbor, three individuals arrived and began a confrontation that quickly turned physical. Two of them started assaulting Zack’s older neighbor. At the same time, Zack’s father was outside and preparing to intervene.
Fearing for the safety of his family and home, especially after hearing one of the individuals threaten to use a knife, Zack discharged a birdshot from his shotgun as a warning. The shot struck the concrete and ricocheted, causing debris to hit two of the individuals involved and a woman sitting in the vehicle.
Zack did not act out of malice, but out of fear and a desire to protect those around him. He has the right to defend himself, his property, and his family. He is currently dealing with serious health issues and relies on an oxygen tank, making it impossible for him to physically defend himself or others in a confrontation.
After a police investigation, Zack was taken into custody without incident. Despite having no prior record, he was denied bail and labeled a danger to the community. This has placed an enormous emotional and financial burden on his family, who are now facing significant legal expenses to secure proper representation and fight for justice.
Those who know Zack understand that he is a kind, nonviolent person who would never intentionally harm anyone. His community stands behind him, and we are coming together to support him during this challenging time.
