Let me start by saying Rex is a very proud man and woud not agree to do this if there was any other way.  On Sept. 8th, Rex's 41st birthday, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.  We were scared.  He is a vicious warrior.  He underwent 8 hour a day drips of chemo for 5 days staight then had 12 days off and did it all again.  This continued for 3 months.  In April of 2005, he was in remission and went back to work.  Then, in August of 2006, the nasty cancer came back. He underwent the same treatment again.  He was down to 150 pounds.  Rex weighed 205 when he first got cancer.  He went back into remission, but was not strong enough to go back to work.  He was approved for disability.  In July of 2007, it said hello again.  Same chemo, draining as ever.  Had to be done in a hospital because it was so intense.  He was told he was done.  There was nothing more they could do.  Those of you that know me, know I am a spitfire.  I ranted and raved and said figure something out.  They decided to do tandum (back to back) stem stell transplants.  It was very new.  They were to do the first one in Sept. of 2007.  At that time, they realized he had already had a heart attack.  Transplant postponed.  They were finally able to do it in Feb. of 2008.  It was gruelling on him.  they need to basically give you enough chemo to kill you and hope your stem cells bring you back.  He was very sick.  We spent 3 months living at Brent's Place in Denver, CO.  In May, he had the second transplant.  In June, we went to our daughters wedding and Rex, weighing 130 lbs and being on a walker was glad he made it.  We went back to the doctor on Sept. 8th, again his birthday.  The doctor told us they were sorry, but it did NOT WORK!  He had 2-6 months to live.  They said to come back in Novemeber to see how fast it was progressing.  God is GOOD.  In Novemember they told us, "We don't know what has happened, but the cancer is gone."  We knew what had happened, and we thanked GOD.  We took that as a sign and moved to Arkansas to be near our 1 and 2 year old grandsons.  Life  was good.  In 2021, we moved to Arizona to be near our recently divorced daughter.  Life was wonderful.  In February, we bought our dream home.  Then, April 21st rolls around and Rex is diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, aggresive. He is now undergoing radiation treatments.  The Social Security Office decided since it's a differnt form of cancer, he is no longer disabled and have stopped his monthly checks.  He is a proud man, so he still works 2 days a week.  It's hard on him, but that's who he is.  We have a $2600 bill for radiation and mortgage payments and his income at this time is $800/month.  If you are able to help, please do.  If you cannot finacailly help, please send prayers.  They do wonders.  God Bless everyone that took the time to read this to the end.  Thank you to the SHS Class of 1982 who took the time to video chat with him since he couldn't make the reunion.  Thank you so much.  I love Rex and I cannot lose him.  Please help.
