John George Carter was married to his wife Jean and had six children: Amanda, Wes, Ian, Jeremy, Holly and Keira (Krimson). He left behind two sisters: Melissa and Christine. John served in the US Coast Guard in his twenties on the East Coast and was a truck driver for the remainder of his working days. John loved listening to Rock and Roll music and cooking dinner for family. He was very outgoing and could have a conversation with anyone. His humor, although dry at times, could bring a smile to a strangers face. The medical staff at the VA said he was always very kind, courteous and grateful and would tell them so every chance he could get. One of his dreams was to buy a sailboat and sail the open seas.

On May 7th, John lost his fight to lung cancer during his visit at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. John unfortunately did not have any insurance, will or saved funds prepared and his family is asking for assistance with the funeral/cremation. Any amount will help! The hospital has given Jean 72 hours (From yesterday) to set and pay for the arrangements.

For transparency, anything accumulated after the goal will go towards any medical bills and Jean’s bills as her company is not paying for the time she has had (Will have) off from work. Any donation is appreciated.
