I never thought I’d be in this position. Due to unexpected financial hardship, I’ve fallen behind on rent and now face the possibility of eviction. The job market is unfortunately not the same as it once was where you might lose one job and start another in a couple weeks. I’ve dried up my savings and I’m currently working odd jobs just to feed myself and cover utilities.
If I’m able to clear this back rent then I’ll no longer have to play catch up, which is what ultimately has me in this situation.
The situation is urgent — I need to raise $8,500 within the next few days to stay in my home and avoid losing everything.
I’ve explored every option I can, and asking for help like this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But I believe in the kindness of others, and right now, that kindness would truly be life-saving.
