Gordy has recently been diagnosed with kidney failure and heart disease, he needs some help, and a lot of you have reached out, offering to help him. I have appreciated the outpouring of love and support so much. Even if you can't help here, your messages and love have already been so helpful and appreciated. I'll try to keep Gordy's story short. He hasn't been able to work in the last year, he lost his job, and he only receives a social security check every month that is almost the entire cost of his rent each month. Our plan is to try and move him to a smaller apartment in the next week, which will bring his rent down. He needs a $1000 deposit to do that. His current apartment and all his belongings are getting bombed for bedbugs right now, and he is staying in a hotel. The cost of the hotel and the bug bombing is about $3000. His power bill is behind and he needs $500 to pay it off and get the power turned back on. His phone bill was behind and is $150 for him to be able to use it again. He lost his car key at the hospital, which was $75 to replace. All of his clothes and furniture will need to be replaced after his apartment is bombed. And he needs some new toiletries and grocieries. This is how we came to the goal of $5500. Anything you can give, is more than appreciated. We just want Gordy to be able to feel at home and clean and comfortable in his apartment again for the remainder of his life. The doctors didn't give us a specific timeline, but the nurses were feeling like he may have somewhere around a year, if he can take care of himself, and receive care.
