I have started a donation account for my brother Zafir and his 16 year old daughter Kalina, as they lost my sister in law, Marionela (age 50), this week. Two weeks ago, Marionela unexpectedly suffered a hemorrhagic brain aneurysm and was placed on life support. A few days later, after a stent was placed, she then suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. A craniotomy was performed, and she continued to spiral downward from there. The medical system overseas is, to say the least, far from what ours is in the states. As a critical care nurse myself, and being so far away, I feel beyond helpless and distraught. The last things I want my family to worry about are financial aspects during this dire time of their lives. The money donated will help to put food on their table, pay medical bills, and help them to continue paying their bills during this tragic and emotionally difficult time. Marionela was the primary provider in the family, as Zefir is physically disabled with a leg amputation. Marionela was the sweetest, most intelligent, and classiest woman I know. She is the leading example of what a mother and friend should be, with a heart of gold, a radiant smile, and laugh that can brighten up the cloudiest of days. Marionela, Zafir, and Kalina mean the world to me, and I would be beyond greatful if we could get together and help to ease some of their financial burdens during this time.
