Sundy is a first time home buyer, that had the impression she would be able to wrap the Extreme Home-Makeover needs into her current mortgage. She is now renting, while carrying a mortgage for a home that she is trying to make livable. This house would not pass the home study requirements without the renovation. Please pray for her and her family as she navigates these challenging circumstances!
She is a foster and adoptive mom with three adopted girls and a big heart to continue to say YES to children who need a place to call home.
Sundy devotes her life to children and is a strong advocate for foster and adoptive children through One More Child ministry (onemorechild.org).
After fostering for over 5 years (caring for over 30 children) Sundy's two bedroom townhome was not getting any bigger, but her family and heart for children was.
She dreamed of a house larger than the two bedroom she had lived in for 9 years and worked with five different realtors to find a bigger home.
Just when it felt like all the odds were stacked against her -- a difficult housing market, years of empty house hunting, a super low housing budget on a single income, and rising interest rates-- an incredible commercial realtor sent Sundy a property that belonged to a local church. The property was way over budget, but the realtor said, "nothing is impossible"'and challenged Sundy to let God work in ways only He can. After a nudge from the realtor, Sundy went and looked at the property. Sundy loved what she saw, but financially the house was out of reach.
As she sat in front of the house praying, the words "miracle house" scrolled across her radio's screen.
Days before Christmas, and after months of prayer and the generosity of a church family and a realtor, Sundy bought the house. Her miracle for the children she loves was unfolding.
But, Sundy and her children need another miracle (that's where you can help). The fixer upper home she bought needs 85,000-100,000 dollars in renovations (including all new electric, plumbing, a well fixed, walls added, appliances, flooring, adding a laundry room, fixing bathrooms, and so much more).
Sundy and her girls are on a Christ-centered mission to help more children. This house will be used for God’s mission field for orphans, single Moms at risk that need a place to rest/be ministered to while saving/searching for housing (single Mom and 9year old already living there with no housing options), and so much more!
If you feel led to donate every dollar will be used wisely! We look forward to sharing updates, as God answers her family’s prayers of how the house will be renovated! Again your prayers are much appreciated as she and her girls walk in faith through this journey!
A friend, adoptive Mom and former
foster Momma!
