In Loving Memory of Chris Schultz. Husband, Father, Brother and Wildland Firefighter.
We are heartbroken to share the loss of Chris Schultz, a devoted husband, proud father, and courageous wildland firefighter. He gave his all to the job—protecting our lands, our homes, and our communities—until his very last day.
Chris leaves behind his beloved wife, Haley, their 2 boys, Sawyer and Emmett, who now face an unthinkable future without his steady presence, his laughter, and his love.
His passing leaves a enormous void in the wildland firefighting community, where he gave his all to the Shenandoah National Park, Augusta Interagency Hotshot Crew, the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest, and the Southern Area Engine Academy.
This fund has been created to support Haley and the kids through this painful time. Your donations will help cover memorial expenses and provide financial support as they navigate life without their hero. It will also give them the time and space to grieve without the added burden of immediate financial worry.
Chris was more than just a firefighter—he was a friend, a mentor, and a man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. His legacy is one of strength, sacrifice, and love.
If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing this page. Every bit of support helps, and means more than we can say.
Thank you for honoring Chris and holding his family close in your hearts.
