❗️❗️UPDATE: March 3rd.
The authorities notified Michael. The Uhaul Truck and the Uhaul Trailer were located (and returned to Uhaul). The moving truck was completely empty. The Toyota Tacoma is officially gone.
Your donations are much needed. Thank you.

Michael has lost everything except the clothes on his back and the laptop in his bag. He needs help rebuilding, and he's worth the investment.
He just had his 50th birthday before loading up his Uhaul to move to San Juan Island to start a new chapter with me, his partner in life, Amy. We've been long distance for the last 4 years. He was ready to leave a lifetime of southern California and all it's insanity behind, and shift into a peaceful life in a remote island in the pacific northwest.
His move was set to be a 3 day trip running up the coast with a hotel stay in Sacramento, another in Eugene, and then day 3 coming to an end with a ferry ride onto the island, and then home.
At 4am the morning of day 2, Michael heard a heavy truck starting in the parking lot of his hotel... he woke up, looked out the window, and literally saw his Uhaul towing his Toyota Tacoma truck driving away and out of the parking lot...
He called 911. The cops arrived, took the reports, and then... he waited. The first 24 hours passed with no news. He booked a flight from Sacramento to here, and here he is... in this new chapter with none of his belongings. The truck long gone.
They took everything. The few family photos he has from his childhood, his certificates, degrees and important papers, his welding gear, 30 years worth of collected tools, art supplies, his custom built bicycle, journals, all his clothes, his furniture.... the list goes on...
Everything. Gone. Taken.
Michael is an incredible human. He gives everything he does his absolute all. He is exceptionally intelligent, hardworking and creative. He has a huge heart and would walk to the ends of the earth for those he loves, but he would never ask anyone else for help. He takes care of himself.
But he needs help right now. This devastation is far too great.
If you can help contribute to this person rebuilding his life, it would mean the world to us. Thank you for your generosity in a heartbreaking time.
And that was it. It's gone.
