Vanessa Partida Designs' Story
Vanessa Partida Designs was established on October 19th, 2011.
At its inception, I felt a larger purpose for these bags was waiting to be revealed. The revelation came when a New York organization asked me to design a bag to help raise funds for underprivileged children.
Regrettably, an accident in April 2014 forced me to pause this project. On November 14th, 2016, I attempted to restart it, but my website got hacked a few weeks later. As I was about to resume my architecture studies, I had to shelve this project once more due to time constraints.
I've always been passionate about the welfare of animals. In 2020, I began rescuing dogs, driven by the disturbing realities facing millions of animals worldwide. Lack of shelter space and adopters results in the death of countless innocent dogs. Moreover, many other animals are brutally killed, even for consumption.
I felt compelled to contribute to the solution through my artwork. That's why I revived this project - I want my art to save animals from abuse and death. My goal is to create a constant reminder through my art about the importance of animal protection and respect.
As Isaac Bashevis Singer rightly put it, "As long as people will shed the blood of innocent creatures there can be no peace, no liberty, no harmony. Slaughter and justice cannot dwell together."
This quotation encapsulates my mission.
To actualize this, 10% of the proceeds from each item sold here will be donated to help animals in need. Additionally, a purchase of an original artwork will contribute 50% of its sale towards establishing a sanctuary to create a haven for the animals - my ultimate goal.
This is my dream, but I can't do it alone. The more people who support this cause, the more animals we can help.
