Dear friend, There is so much that feels out of control in the world that we can't do anything about. Here is something you can do now that will save a life.
This is Jovia. She is 12. Since her mom, Eunice Akwang, developed a brain tumor last year, Jovia has been taking care of her younger brother, Jovan, and her Mom. They live in a village in Northern Uganda. Eunice has a chance of surviving and resuming her role as the extraordinary Mom she has been to raise these two outstanding kids. Both are exceptional students but have had to leave school on and off due to lack of funds and the need for Jovia to care for her Mom.
Eunice had a successful surgery last year for this same tumor thanks to the resources you gave then. Radiation will complete the treatment and is scheduled in the next few weeks to eliminate the tumor. The doctors say she has an excellent chance of recovery if she gets the radiation treatment Without it, she will likely die.
If you could help Eunice raise the funds for this radiation treatment, you will not only help save her life, you will prevent Jovia and Jovan from becoming orphans. They have no other family. Neither would finish school and it is not clear how they would survive. The situation is desperate.
