I’m a mother of four and a postal carrier. On a normal workday, my life was changed forever when I was robbed at gunpoint while delivering mail.
In those terrifying moments, I truly believed I might not make it home to my children. That trauma doesn’t just disappear once the police leave. Since that day, I’ve struggled with fear, panic, and being able to even put on my uniform or leave my house. I filed the proper workers’ compensation paperwork, but instead of being supported, my job stopped my pay — even taking my holiday pay — leaving me without income when I needed it most.
While one person involved is in custody, others are still free, which makes me feel unsafe every day. I am left trying to heal from trauma while also worrying about how to keep the lights on, feed my children, and survive financially.
I didn’t ask for this. I was just doing my job.
I am asking for help so I can cover:
-
Mortgage and utilities
-
Food and basic needs for my children
-
Transportation
-
Medical and trauma-related care
-
Bills while I wait for workers’ comp and legal processes
Any amount — even $5 — helps. If you can’t donate, sharing this means more than you know.
Thank you for helping a mom who is just trying to survive something that never should have happened.
