Since it's Saturday, sending only good news!
1) One of the Afghans we helped evacuate last week was a one-week-old baby ❤️. Off to a good start!
2) We are delighted to see this news about a group of LGBTQ Afghans who reached the UK for resettlement (please see WP link below).
Transit Initiatives is focused on helping at-risk groups, including LGBTQ. This story is a great example of the hardships facing many vulnerable groups and the great collaboration to provide assistance. There is much more work to do. Thanks so much for your contribution to this effort!

Hello!
I write today with good news and bad news.... the good (great) news first! As of this week, Transit Initiatives has helped over 140 people exit Afghanistan. Some have resettled in a permanent "new" country, some are in transitional locations as they seek visas and refugee status. All are safer and thankful to have had the assistance to make this brave step forward. These lives are changed forever, and we are grateful to each of you for your contributions which have directly funded life support for vulnerable Afghans over these past 8 weeks.
The bad news is that many are still seeking safety. As we have succeeded with evacuations, more at-risk individuals and families have joined our group seeking assistance. In a nutshell... it's complicated. Some flights are moving, but many factors have slowed or obstructed progress.
Despite obstacles, Transit Initiatives continues to work diligently with other partners as well as the USG to help vulnerable Afghans seek solutions before what promises to be a very difficult winter ahead.
Your contribution has made a huge difference in helping hundreds of at-risk Afghans seek safety.
Please share the word (and this SpotFund link) with friends and family who may have the interest and ability to contribute to this very worthy effort.
Last but not least, one more link to a sobering look at a worsening crisis ahead: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/10/28/us-provide-nearly-144-million-more-humanitarian-assistance-afghanistan/

Hello friends. We are celebrating another member of our group who safely made it out of Afghanistan this weekend. Also passing on an excellent article in the Atlantic that explains the complexity and the need for this important work.

Some had trouble with this link - great article to show how much this assistance means to these families.

Hello Friends! Just a quick update to say we continue to make progress one person and one family at a time. We saw a number of successful resettlements this past week and are celebrating each one. With winter coming, there is an even more urgent need to move these vulnerable people to safe locations - either transitional or permanent. We are doing all we can to make this happen and appreciate your contributions to this effort. Please see below one success story that I'm delighted to share.
PLEASE share our link to anyone who may have the interest and ability to support this worthy cause.
