Safe water is a human right. Yet 4 million people in rural Guinea don't have it. The solution is right there, under their feet. It just needs to be brought to the surface.
There are several organizations, including Unicef who are doing the fundraising and the work to drill wells for water. Each well costs $5,000-$6,000 but there is a long waiting list and a 4 year assessment process.
My friend Tasana is from the village of Mambia, in Conakry, Guinea. In the months of February, March and April the river is completely dry. The rest of the year there's water in the river, but it's also used for washing clothes, and of course animals use it, often times people get sick from drinking it. They walk 2 to 3 miles to buy water and carry it home in 5 gallon containers.
Together we have found a trusted company willing to drill a well in his village for $5,500 and I would like to help him accomplish this goal of providing clean water. With your help we can make this happen.
We appreciate any size donation you can make.
