In August, TJ suffered a tragic overdose that left him hospitalized. Since then, he has remained in the hospital, and we have now been faced with the heartbreaking reality that he is brain-dead. This is not a road any family is ever prepared to walk.

Because TJ is legally incapacitated and unable to make decisions for himself, our family must go through the court process to advocate for him and ensure his care and end-of-life wishes are handled properly. These legal proceedings come with significant and unexpected court fees. In addition, we are trying to prepare for funeral and memorial expenses so that TJ can be honored with the dignity and love he deserves.

Our mother is not present, and during this time, TJ’s best friend, a close family friend, and I have stepped in to handle everything on his behalf. I have taken on the responsibility of guiding my brother through his final journey in this life—making sure he is not alone, forgotten, or without love.

We are asking for support to help cover court-related costs, legal fees, and funeral expenses so that we can focus on honoring TJ, grieving properly, and giving him peace. TJ was more than this tragedy. He loved fishing—being by the water brought him peace. He loved gaming and spending countless hours laughing and escaping into his favorite worlds. Most of all, he loved spending time with his friends and with me, creating memories that I will carry forever. TJ had a big heart, and he mattered deeply to so many people. We want to honor his life not just for how it ended, but for the love, joy, and connection he brought into this world.
