I need help to finish my divorce. I need to appeal. I have very littel money to do so, due to divorce, living in my van and having health issues.
I recently lost my divorce due to the judge line item vetoing a clause in a contract signed between me and my ex a couple years before the divorce, that due to filing a divorce would be voided. For the fact that I filed first as a reason the judge decided that one line wasn't valid and awarded my ex the entirety of the home we built together over 20 years of marriage. I wanted half.
Things that make this appeal a stronger case for winning than the national average.
1. during the hearing my ex informed the judge that she had not assisted the account that paid the mortgage for 15 years of payments.
2. she admitted to her lawyer during the trial that she did not have some items on the list of things that I had requested from her.
3. she admitted during the trial that she was waiting for paperwork to file for a divorce against me prior to me filing (this also could have been proved if I had been allowed. I wasn't allowed a witness during the trial after my wife had hers. at the time I was asked if they would provide information upon her intentions but could have testified to this aspect instead.)
4. she never refuted when i stated that she had been asking me every day to "leave and file" for 6 months up to when i did leave.
5. even though I filed first she filed afterwards. she used our kids, which were never in dispute as far as custody and placement went, to force the divorce to be in Oklahoma instead of Wisconsin
I have spoken to 2 lawyers that feel this is a great case for an appeal.
My other lawyer has spoken to 5 other lawyers, all of which feel this case is a precedent. 2 of them think it will be overturned but all of them are interested in how this appeal goes.
I plan on treating any money you give as a 4 year CD at an interest rate of 4.5%. If I win the appeal I plan on paying 50% to those that help fund.
Either way this is an investment in me and I will be paying everything back.
