Hello everyone. As you know we have taken some unexpected time off. Some of you may know why while others may not. Thank you for giving me a little time to regroup and get myself back together. We lost a couple of our very special friends. Cami, Stella and Lee. As soon as I thought something was wrong with any of them we had the vet out, but it was to late. We had something go through our herds and we lost the three of them within days of each other. Since we have had three different vet appointments to make sure everyone else will be okay. It was an extremely tough week for me as I not only lost pets, but what I felt like were my closest friends. We are a very small family business and needed time to grieve.
While the donkeys and alpacas seem to be grieving well, Eli is left alone. The donkeys and alpacas still have a herd of 5, but Eli really needs another friend.
We have found this awesome camel, Bruce. He is all the way in Kansas though. He is a little out of our price range, and the cost to haul him here just really puts it over the top. I don't know what it is about this camel, but I just really feel like he belongs with us. We will also have initial well visit costs, training and he will need to be gelded.
I know these go fund me's are here there and everywhere now, but I think Bruce belongs at the Funny Farm, and I just can't think of another way to make it happen. Eli really seems lonely, and I think he needs a buddy.
If we do raise enough funds to bring him home, we promise to have an event ASAP for everyone to meet him. We have to make a decision by Monday, or he is heading to an auction.
