My name is Kristen Flowers. I am creating this page to hopefully help a dear dear friend of mine, Sherri Chocran, through a hard time in her life. I have seen what these pages can do for those in need and I am praying to see it happen for her. I have never done anything like this but Im hoping to make a difference in her life like she has in so many others. Sherri is an amazing person who always does for others and never does for herself. Sherri never expects anything in return for her good deeds because they are simply that, good deeds, from a good person. She is truly one of those people that puts others before herself and trusts God to handle the rest. She is a mother, a sister, a daughter, and a friend. Sherri has a heart of gold and never asks for help even in a serious time of need like now...which is why Im begging you all to help if you can, even if a prayer is all you can give. Without sharing all of her business, I'd like to say that Sherri has been going through a hard time for almost a year now. She was the Director of a local daycare in Thomaston for over a decade and has been out of work since earlier this year awaiting a new daycare to open so she can be the Director of that one. There have been a few obstacles in opening this new daycare that could not have been foreseen and it has taken a substantial amount longer than expected for it to open. Education, children, little hands, hearts, and minds are her passion. Loving and teaching children is what God has called her to do in this world. Sherri has been patiently waiting and keeping her optimism and faith strong through all of this. She has been in home babysitting and getting the new daycare ready but is having a hard time making ends meet. Her landlord has been a major blessing to her and has been helping as much as he can but he can not give her any more time in her home. She is at a major risk of being homeless. The new daycare is to open in about a month (maybe less). Sherri has centered her life around God and children and has always held a special place in her heart for foster children. She isn't the foster parent that does it for the money, she genuinely takes these kids in her home in the middle of the night with no warning and no supplies. She MAKES IT HAPPEN!. She treats these children like they have been hers since they day they were born and gives them a clean and warm home to come and feel safe in. She will make their rooms just for them and their interests, makes their birthdays special, has fun things planned for the weekends, and makes them feel like they are number one when in reality they probably have never experienced that before. They immediately become her babies and she has even adopted them as her own as well. She has watched my children since they day they were born and I trust her with their lives. She puts everyone before herself and is ALWAYS ALWAYS giving and helping others even when she herself, needs major help. She doesnt complain or whine and cry. She gets out there and fights everyday to try and keep her head above water while also giving her children the gift of innocence and ignorance to what's really going on. There has not been a lazy moment in this woman's life. There is not a day that goes by that she doesn't get out of bed, no matter how low she is feeling that day, and  put on a smile for her children and the children she takes care of. Her house is always clean and warm and welcoming. Both of her parents passed away within a year of each other and she has also lost a bother too. She doesnt have many friends and doesnt have much family left either. Can we please be her family and help her! I want her to be able to sit down and know that she can go to sleep without bad dreams and worries about waking up the next day not knowing what the day will bring. She is the last person that deserves to hurt and struggle. If I had the money, Id give her everything I could. I am coming to you all in the hopes that even if you have a dollar to spare, she is someone you'd be willing to help. Thank you all so much. I love you all and God will see Sherri through.
