This sweet girl was brought to me Wednesday evening, the night before Thanksgiving, after being found roaming the streets of Monroe with a pretty extensive leg/hip injury. The injury didn’t seem to bother her at all which was odd because some pedestrians saw her get clipped by a car that evening so we thought the injury happened that night. After sharing her story on Facebook, a precious soul reached out to me and agreed to pay for her to be checked out by a vet. She was seen Monday by Dr. McClendon at McClendon Vet. After some x-rays it was determined that this was actually an older injury, about 3-6 months old!!!! No wonder why it wasn’t bothering her..this poor girl has just learned to adapt to living using only 3 legs (she can’t put any weight on her injured leg so she just holds it up when she runs/walks). 😞 The injury is a Femoral Head Fracture and will essentially require a surgical procedure equivalent to a hip replacement! This procedure will be about $1,800-$2,000!! She also needs to be spayed, heart worm tested and vaccinated. She is only about 1 year old and is the sweetest, most playful and friendly girl and deserves a full, happy and healthy life!!
