Hi Friends!
I am Carrington Manous, Miss Georgia's Teen. I am a junior Honors Student at Woodward Academy in Atlanta, GA vying for the title of Miss America's Teen. My Community Service Initiative (CSI) is Carrington Cares #DecodeDyslexia. Its purpose is to negate misconceptions about how society views individuals born with the “gift” of dyslexia and their capabilities to succeed. My work helps ensure all dyslexic students have the proper diagnosis and tools to thrive.
I am competing for the title of Miss America's Teen because of the core value of promoting sisterhood and the Miss America Opportunity’s founding principles, referred to as the “4 points of the crown”: service, style, scholarship and success. I believe these principles help to create a well-rounded woman who develops a purpose much greater than herself and will carry over in every aspect of her life for her entire life. I also believe it’s because of this organization and its principles that I have and continue to become a better version of myself every day. One significant benefit of The Miss America Opportunity is the college scholarship opportunities it offers its candidates, as the largest provider of scholarships to women in the country. These scholarships help young women, like myself, reach their educational and professional goals, bridging the gap between opportunity and success. Additionally, I am deeply appreciative of the generous sponsors of the Miss America Opportunity, including the American Heart Association (AHA). Following my grandfather's experience with a massive heart attack, my family and I became dedicated supporters of the American Heart Association. We refuse to let this tragedy be in vain, and therefore, I seize every opportunity to raise awareness about the AHA’s impactful efforts in our community and to encourage others to support their important work.
I am asking my family, friends and all my supporters to donate to the Miss America Opportunity which continues to uplift, promote and support the dreams of America’s future female leaders. Thank you so much for your consideration and future donation(s).
