My baby girl needs an expensive surgery to save her eyesight. I’ve exhausted all the resources I can, reached out to several nonprofits and have not found anyone that can help. I don’t know what to do, other than ask the community for help. She has pigmentary keratitis which is very common in pugs. It is a brown pigment that spreads through her eyes and will eventually cover her pupils and make her blind. It is so close to her range of eyesight right now, so we have to do the surgery very soon! Her eyes are perfectly healthy otherwise, so having this surgery to stop the pigment from spreading will prevent this horrible outcome. We rescued Piper when she was a year and a half. She is the absolute sweetest little potato and the best girl anyone could ask for. She loves absolutely everyone, and gets especially excited to meet children! She loves playing ball so much, loves treats, and loves her four brothers. She is just the best girl, and the thought of her going blind completely breaks my heart, especially when it’s preventable. Despite working way over full time, we just cannot afford the surgery needed. It is over $3000. I have about $1000 in CareCredit, but we need help to cover the rest. If you able to help in any way, it is so beyond appreciated!! You can donate directly to the Veterinary Referral Center in Bend or send money to my Venmo.
Her surgery is scheduled for August 28th, so we are hoping to raise funds by then!
